In Khabarovsk, at the military commissariat on ul. Two beer bottles and matches were found at the scene. Several months later, on February 27, 2023, at the Khabarovsk Central Cemetery, in the sector where those killed in the SVO are buried, someone painted swastikas on the flags. A total of 24 flags of Russia and military units were painted. A few months later, in early July (exact date unknown) 2023, it became known that a 38-year-old Khabarovsk resident named Angel Nikolayev, who had taken an anti-war position since the beginning of the SVO, was detained on charges of arson of a military enlistment office and damaged flags. His Instagram account is called "Angel Nikolaev, No war. A criminal case was initiated against the man for desecration of the state emblem and flag of the Russian Federation, hooliganism, vandalism, and desecration of the bodies of the deceased and places of their burial motivated by political hatred and terrorism, resulting in significant property damage or other serious consequences. Nikolaev was sent to a pre-trial detention center. On May 3, 2024, the 1st Eastern Military District Court found Angel Nikolaev guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in prison. According to the court's decision, the activist must spend the first 4 years in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime colony. On September 11, 2024, the Appellate Military Court reduced the sentence by two months.
