On December 12, 2023, in Barnaul, Altai Krai, local resident Andrey Vitovtov was detained on the street. After that, he was taken to an apartment for a search. Electronic devices, a collection of Soviet medals, certificates and badges, money, as well as a bank card were seized from him (at the same time, law enforcement officers deny the fact of seizing the latter). On the same day, a search was also conducted at Vitovt's rented spare parts warehouse. A criminal case was opened against Vitovtov for justifying terrorism. According to the investigation, Vitovtov published in the anonymous Telegram channel "Ice under the major's feet" (3.6 thousand. subscribers) a post about an assassination attempt on propagandist Zakhar Prilepin and drone attacks on 'Moscow-City': the author of the post calls Prilepin 'almost the main Putinite graphomaniac', expresses 'respect' to those who organized the assassination attempt, which he calls 'karma'. In the post about the drone attack, the author congratulates Russians on the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine. The court sent the Barnaul resident to a pre-trial detention center. On October 8, 2024, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Andrey Vitovtov guilty and sentenced him to 6 years in a general regime colony. on January 13, 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the sentence unchanged. At the end of February 2025, it became known that a new criminal case had been opened against Vitovtov - for treason and justification of terrorism in seven episodes."
