Case Description
On May 5, 2023, Andrey Tyaglov, a 26-year-old local resident, was detained in Nizhny Novgorod. He was accused of confidential cooperation with a foreign state to the detriment of the Russian Federation. According to the FSB, Tyazhelov established confidential contact with the Ukrainian side and promised to provide assistance aimed against the security of the Russian Federation. Law enforcement officers claim that he was going to take part in the SMO on the side of Ukraine. The Nizhny Novgorod resident was placed in custody. June 20, 2024, the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court found Andrey Tyazhelov guilty. The sentence is unknown. On September 12, 2024, the Fourth Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction changed the verdict, details are also unknown.
