Case Description
Andrei Tkach, a 33-year-old local resident of Tambov, was charged with justifying terrorism in April 2024. The reason for the criminal prosecution was comments on VKontakte, in which, according to law enforcement, Tkach spoke positively about the arson of the military enlistment office in Murmansk on May 14, 2023, for which 19-year-old Shamil Aliyev-Gasanov was accused. Tkach's VKontakte page is blocked. He is from Tambov himself, left Russia in the fall of 2022 and does not use VKontakte. He suggested that the page had been hacked.
