Case Description
In at least six cities in Russia (Chelyabinsk, Moscow, Krasnodar, Sochi, Kemerovo, and Novosibirsk), searches were conducted on August 14 against alleged members of the religious organization "New Generation" as part of a criminal case under the article on the activities of an "undesirable organization." In August 2021, the General Prosecutor's Office recognized the activities of the religious organizations 'New Generation,' based in Latvia and Ukraine, as undesirable on the territory of Russia. According to a source in the security forces, the 'New Generation' allegedly supports the Ukrainian regiment 'Azov,' which the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in August 2022.
