Case Description
In St. Petersburg in September 2025, Andrey Matushkin, president of the non-profit partnership 'International Association of Private Detectives,' was detained. A criminal case of treason was opened against him. It is reported that two other detectives were also involved in the case, one of whom was later released. According to the investigation, Matushkin was engaged in collecting information constituting a state secret and transmitting it abroad to representatives of the Baltic countries. He is also suspected of collaborating with foreign intelligence and assisting in the implementation of its tasks on Russian territory. The court chose a measure of restraint for the defendant in the form of arrest.
