Case Description
In the occupied Luhansk region, local resident, Ukrainian citizen Andrey Gumenyuk, was detained. The date of his detention is unknown. He was accused of participating in a terrorist community and undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities. According to the Russian investigation, in April 2023, Gumenyuk voluntarily joined the ranks of the Ukrainian paramilitary nationalist association - the 'Aidar' regiment, recognized in Russia as a terrorist community. He underwent training, acquired knowledge and practical skills in handling weapons. After that, he took part in hostilities against the RF Armed Forces on the territory of the Luhansk and Donetsk "people's republics" in the position of a shooter. The defendant in the case was placed in the SIZO. 31 October 2025, the Southern District Military Court found Andrey Gumenyuk guilty and sentenced him to 19 years in a strict regime penal colony.
