Case Description
On March 29, 2023, in Yekaterinburg, 23-year-old Andrey Yevseyev, a resident of Nizhny Novgorod, a serviceman who was serving under contract in Yekaterinburg, was detained. A criminal case was initiated against him for confidential cooperation with a foreign state to the detriment of the Russian Federation. Details of the charges are unknown; the reason for the criminal prosecution was some correspondence. Yevseyev himself said that "he corresponded about arson and initially agreed to arson, and then gave up on this matter, and did not even think about the correspondence. For the duration of the investigation, he was placed in a pre-trial detention center. 10 February 2025, the Central Military District Court found Andrey Evseev guilty and sentenced him to 7 years in a general regime colony. 27 May 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
