Case Description
A criminal case was opened against Andrey Etkeyev, a resident of the city of Urzhum in the Kirov region, on April 20, 2023, for spreading "fakes" about the Russian army motivated by political hatred. The reason for the criminal prosecution was reposts in 'Odnoklassniki' of news broadcasts and media publications about Russia's war crimes in Ukraine, including in Bucha. After a search and interrogation, the court sent Etkeyev under house arrest. On November 27, Judge Elena Uskova of the Urzhum District Court of the Kirov Region sentenced Andrey Etkeyev to five years in a general regime colony. Also, the court deprived him of the right to engage in activities related to the administration of websites for a period of 3 years. on February 7, 2024, the Kirov Regional Court upheld the sentence.
