Case Description
In late August 2022, 19-year-old local resident Andrey Yenukov was detained in Sevastopol, annexed Crimea. During the search, they confiscated 'two bottles with an incendiary mixture, communication devices, as well as leaflets of an extremist nature.' In the operational footage of the detention of the men, a book titled "Fundamentals of Islam" and black-and-white leaflets with the inscriptions "Crimean Resistance, Russian Occupier! "Lay down your arms while it's not too late!' and 'This is what your budget goes to!", And it burns great! In addition, the video shows a computer that, according to law enforcement officers, belongs to the arrested person. Telegram channels whose authors express support for Ukraine are visible on the computer screen. Enyukov was accused of attempted terrorism and public calls for extremist activities. According to the investigation, Andrey Enyukov planned to set fire to a warehouse of fuel and lubricants and a center for humanitarian aid for refugees from Donbass. For the duration of the investigation, the court sent Enyukov to a pre-trial detention center. The Southern Military District Court found Andrey Enyukov guilty and sentenced him to 10 years in a strict regime colony with the first 3 years to be served in prison. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
