Case Description
In St. Petersburg on August 13, 2024, 54-year-old local resident Alexander Bogodarov was detained. He was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization. According to law enforcement's version, Bogodarov participated in the activities of the 'Russian Volunteer Corps,' which is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. It is unknown what exactly the man's "participation" in the activities of the "RDK" consisted of. On August 13, 2024, the Krasnoselsky District Court of St. Petersburg placed the case defendant in custody. Information has been reported that the testimony against Bogodarov was given by a student from Petrozavodsk, Andrey Vasyurenko, who was sentenced in February 2024 to 9 years in prison for aiding terrorism and incitement to treason. It is claimed that, while in custody, Vasyaurenko "decided to mitigate his punishment and give testimony against citizens of the Russian Federation involved in the activities of the RDK and other terrorist organizations of Ukraine."
