According to the investigation, the man repeatedly posted materials containing information about disrespect for the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as desecration of symbols of military glory, on his personal page on "Odnoklassniki" under the pseudonym "Beneficiary Sovereign. On September 27, 2019, and June 2, 2023, Afanasyev published a picture stating 'During World War II, St. George ribbons were only awarded in the RUSSIAN corps of Vlasov, who fought on the side of the NAZIS'; this picture contains the coat of arms of Nazi Germany with a St. George ribbon tied around it, as well as a photograph of the collaborator Ivan Kononov." "On September 27, 2019, he also published a picture with the text 'Everything you need to know about their victory on May 9?' with Nazi symbols and a photo of the collaborator, leader of the Russian Liberation Army (ROA) Andrey Vlasov, as well as images of the Victory Banner, the Order of the Patriotic War, and a photograph of Joseph Stalin. On December 20, 2020, a picture was published on Afanasyev's page showing an eagle with the coat of arms of Nazi Germany holding the coat of arms of the USSR in its claws, and an eagle with the Russian coat of arms in which a swastika is inscribed in the center.
