Case Description
In November 2024, a second criminal case was opened against Anastasia Gordienko for repeated 'discrediting of the army'. On November 18, security forces came to her house and handed her a decision to open a criminal case, no search or interrogation was conducted, and no measure of restraint was appointed. The reason for the criminal prosecution was also comments published on July 18, 2023, on Odnoklassniki during a discussion about the war in Ukraine. Among other things, there was a text: "I think, as your beloved Putin said, that you will go to heaven, and I will just die" and "I demand to stop the war. Don't kill, no to war! On 20 September 2023, in the house of 69-year-old pensioner Anastasia Gordienko and her husband in the Omsk region of Odessa, a search was conducted and phones were confiscated. A criminal case was opened against Gordienko for repeated "discrediting of the Russian army. The reason for the criminal prosecution was posts on Odnoklassniki: a song in Ukrainian, a comment wishing victory to Ukraine, and comments criticizing the policy of the President of the Russian Federation. Specifically, she is charged with the phrase "Yes, I want Ukraine to defeat fascism, and so what?.. According to an expert conclusion from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the words 'Russia' and 'fascism' in her statement are presented 'as contextual synonyms,' and 'Russia is characterized as a fascist state... ' Discrediting the army was also found in another comment with the words "It has long been known that Putin has messed up with his under-army in Ukraine.... A pledge not to leave the Odessa district and to behave properly was taken from the pensioner. In October 2022, Gordienko was brought to administrative responsibility under the article on discrediting the army due to a single picket in Omsk at the monument to Bogdan Khmelnitsky with a poster "Mothers, stop the war." On August 27, 2024, the Omsk Region Odessa District Court found Anastasia Gordienko guilty and sentenced her to one and a half years of imprisonment with a suspended sentence. Additionally, the court sentenced her to two years of probation and prohibited her from administering websites on the internet for three years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
