Case Description
In May 2024, a criminal case was opened in Moscow for "calls for terrorism against Anastasia Berezhinskaya. According to the investigation, the girl allegedly published three comments on the VKontakte network that allegedly contained approval or a call for the killing of Putin. A measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave was chosen for the girl. Later it became known that there were two more criminal cases against Berezhinskaya - about "fakes" about the Russian army motivated by political hatred and repeated "discreditation" of the Russian army. The reason for criminal prosecution for spreading 'fakes' was four posts on VKontakte in 2022. The investigation considered that in these posts the Moscow woman published unsubstantiated claims about the "destruction of the civilian population, torture and abuse, the genocide of the Ukrainian nation." Berzhinskii is accused under the article on "discrediting" the army due to comments published in April 2023, about the president as the commander-in-chief of the RF Armed Forces committing state treason, genocide and war crimes, the theft of foreign property by the Russian army, the destruction of infrastructure." During the interrogation, Berezhinskaya reported that she "was frustrated by the military actions of the state, worried about the civilian population of both Russia and Ukraine, wanted to protect herself and the Russian people from the invasion of other states, and wrote the comments "into the air, for personal use." "In late March 2022, Berezhinskaya was brought to administrative responsibility under the article on "discrediting the army" due to a repost on VKontakte of a post from "RUSSIA WITHOUT CENSORSHIP" with the text: "Russia is at war with Ukraine. The senseless, unimaginable war has been going on for a week now. Russia is bombing Ukrainian cities, bringing death and destruction. Not only Ukrainians but also Russian soldiers are dying. And the sanctions that Western countries introduced because of this bloody massacre will affect every person. Maria Pevchik and Georgy Alburov tell about a woman whose name is under the permission for Putin to use the Russian army abroad, while there is a drawing with the inscription "Military criminal." "Matvienko's Italian villa, with an image of a face similar to the Russian politician Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko." "November 14, 2024, the 2nd Western District Military Court found Anastasia Berezhinskaya guilty and sentenced her to 8 years in a general regime colony. The court also banned her from administering websites for three years. The woman was taken into custody in the courtroom. On March 10, 2025, the Appellate Military Court upheld the sentence.
