Case Description
In late July 2023, two HSE students Alina Olenkovich and Ivan Trofimov were detained in Moscow. They were accused of participating in the extremist organization 'Navalny's headquarters'. On July 27, 2023, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow placed both defendants under house arrest. On August 9 of the same year, the measure of restraint for both was changed to SIZO. On March 13, 2024, Judge Olga Zhukova of the Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow found Alina Olekhnovich and Ivan Trofimov guilty and sentenced both to 3.5 years in a general regime colony. On December 3, 2024, the Moscow City Court left the verdict unchanged.
