On August 1, three residents of the Stavropol Territory were detained on charges of arson - 18-year-old Alexei Shagrov and 16-year-old eighth-grader A. Titova and 15-year-old ninth-grader Alina Bryazgun. According to law enforcement officials, an 18-year-old young man, together with his 16-year-old friend, decided to set fire to base stations of mobile operators for monetary reward, following instructions from certain "curators. Curators" instructed them on the selection of targets for criminal attacks, on observing conspiracy measures during the preparation and commission of terrorist acts, as well as methods of monetary rewards." Boys involved their 15-year-old acquaintance, entrusting her with video and photo documentation of the arson attacks. A criminal case of terrorism was opened against the teenagers. On August 2, 2024, the Industrial District Court of Stavropol sent all three to a pre-trial detention center.
