Case Description
A criminal case for "fakes" about the Russian army was initiated against a 25-year-old local resident, Alexei Scherba, in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region. The exact date of the case being opened and the chosen measure of restraint are unknown. According to the investigation, in April 2022, Shcherba twice posted on a social network under the guise of reliable messages knowingly false information containing data on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on April 4, 2024, the Dzerzhinsk City Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region found Alexei Shcherba guilty and sentenced him to 10 months of correctional labor with a deduction of 10% of his salary monthly to the state budget. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
