Case Description
In Udmurtia, no later than February 2025, a criminal case was initiated against 49-year-old prisoner Alexey Repin, who is serving his sentence in the IK-1 Correctional Facility of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Udmurt Republic, on charges of public calls for terrorist activities, justification and propaganda of terrorism, as well as public calls for extremist activities. According to the investigation, in August 2023, Repin, while serving his sentence in a penal colony, publicly expressed views in the presence of other convicts about the correctness of the ideology and practice of terrorism, which needed support and imitation, and also called for the implementation of extremist and terrorist activities. It is unknown exactly what Repin said. The Primorsky District Court of Izhevsk chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention against the defendant in the case." On May 28, 2025, the Central Military District Court found Alexei Repin guilty. Details of the imposed punishment are unknown.
