Case Description
In the occupied Donetsk region on December 12, 2024, 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen Alexey Raskosov was detained. He was accused of espionage. According to the Russian investigation, in September 2022, an unemployed man contacted representatives of a foreign intelligence service via email and, over the course of a month, provided them with information about the location of a unit of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Donetsk. The Ukrainian was placed in custody for the duration of the investigation. On March 13, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic found Alexey Raskosov guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in a strict regime penal colony. On September 3, 2025, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the verdict unchanged.
