He was put on the wanted list. On February 15, 2024, the Gagarin District Court of Moscow chose as a preventive measure against Alexey Panin a measure of arrest in absentia for a period of 2 months from the moment of his extradition or deportation to the territory of the Russian Federation, or from the moment of his actual detention on the territory of the Russian Federation. On September 26, 2024, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Alexey Panin guilty and sentenced him to six years in a general regime colony. The court also banned him from publishing materials on the Internet for three years.
