Case Description
In Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai, on April 23, 2025, 48-year-old Alexey Orlov was detained. He was accused of attempted state treason and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization. According to the investigation, from March 14 to April 23, 2025, Orlov contacted a representative of the Legion "Freedom of Russia, a terrorist organization banned in Russia, and expressed his intention to join it. The man was detained by FSB officers at the Tuapse bus station when he was trying to board a bus. The man was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On October 30, 2025, the Southern Military District Court found Alexey Orlov guilty and sentenced him to 8 years in prison, the first 2 years to be served in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime penal colony.
