Case Description
On June 27, 2023, in the Stavropol Territory, a local 21-year-old resident, a native of Ukraine, Alexey Oksenyuk, was detained. He was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization, preparing for a terrorist attack, and illegally manufacturing explosives. During a search of the man's place of residence, components for the manufacture of a homemade explosive device were allegedly found and seized. According to the investigation, a resident of Stavropol, being a supporter of the Ukrainian nationalist battalion banned on the territory of the Russian Federation, entered into correspondence with an unidentified member of this terrorist organization and expressed his agreement to commit a terrorist act on the territory of the Stavropol Territory on their behalf. The Leninsky District Court of Stavropol sent a Stavropol resident to a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On June 6, 2024, the Southern District Military Court found Alexey Oksenyuk guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in prison. For the first 2.5 years, Oksenyuk will have to serve in prison, the remaining time in a strict regime colony. The court also ordered a fine of 500 thousand to be collected from the man. rubles. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. On the initiative of the FSB, Oksenyuk was deprived of his acquired Russian citizenship.
