Case Description
On September 12, 2024, in the Kursk region, 44-year-old local resident Alexey Dorokhin was detained. He was accused of calling for terrorism and the illegal manufacture and circulation of weapons. The reason for the criminal prosecution was comments justifying the blowing up of the Crimean Bridge, published on July 17, 2023. First, the man was placed in a pre-trial detention center at the request of the investigation, but after 1.5 months the measure of restraint was mitigated and he was sent under house arrest. On December 12, 2024, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Alexei Dorokhin guilty and sentenced him to 5.5 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. He was taken into custody in the courtroom. 26 April 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the sentence unchanged.
