Arestovich Aleksey Nikolaevich (Areshtovich Oleksiy Mikolayovich)

A criminal case was initiated against former adviser to the President of Ukraine, public figure, politician, and military observer Alexey Arestovich for publicly justifying terrorism and spreading knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The reason for criminal prosecution was a social media post from April 8, 2022, in which Arestovich claimed that Kramatorsk had allegedly been struck by Iskander missiles. It soon became clear that this was a strike by the Tochka-U missile, which is actively used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In early October 2023, Arestovich was placed on the international wanted list. 6 February 2024, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow issued an in absentia arrest warrant for Arestovich from the moment of his actual detention, and in the case of extradition or deportation to the territory of the Russian Federation - from the moment of his transfer to the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation.
