A criminal case was opened against Karaseva for obstructing the exercise of electoral rights or the work of election commissions, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or an organized group." On March 16, the Moscow District Court of St. Petersburg issued a ruling to choose a measure of restraint for Karasyova in the form of detention. On August 26, 2024, the Moskovsky District Court of St. Petersburg found Alexandra Karaseva guilty and sentenced her to 1.5 years of imprisonment in a settlement colony. December 12, 2024, the St. Petersburg City Court upheld the sentence.
