Case Description

The 31-year-old resident of the city of Dmitrov in the Moscow region, Alexandra Byzova, was accused of repeated discrediting of the army. According to the investigation, the publications on the VKontakte social network on the page "Sasha Byzova" contain a combination of linguistic and psychological signs of persuasion about the negative nature of the goals of using the Armed Forces of Russia, as well as contain a humiliating assessment of the President of Russia, expressed in an indecent form. It is unknown exactly what Byzova wrote. The defendant in the case was taken under a written undertaking not to leave during the investigation. Earlier, on May 7, 2024, the Dmitrov City Court of the Moscow Region twice fined Alexandra. The court first imposed a fine under an administrative article on insulting the state and its authorities - for crude statements about the president and the Russian government, and the second under an article on public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Russian Armed Forces - for publishing photos, videos, and comments condemning Russia's military actions in Ukraine. On July 18, 2025, Dmitrovsky City Court of the Moscow Region found Alexandra Byzova guilty and sentenced her to 1 year and 6 months in a penal colony-settlement. 2 years of prohibition on activities related to the dissemination of information on the Internet were also imposed on the woman. September 30, 2025, the Moscow Regional Court left the sentence unchanged.
