Zhuravlyov Aleksandr Arkadevich

Alexander Zhuravlyov, a 39-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, was detained in Stavropol on January 18, 2023. According to the security forces, Zhuravlyov, while in St. Petersburg, during a conversation in one of the messengers with an unidentified person who introduced himself as an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, voluntarily agreed to cooperate with him. After that, Zhuravlyov arrived in Stavropol on January 15, where he decided to commit a terrorist act. For the implementation of his plan, he purchased components necessary for the manufacture of a homemade incendiary device, which he stored in a rented apartment. On January 18, Zhuravlev allegedly took photos and videos of some administrative building in Stavropol, as well as screenshots from a mapping service and sent them to a person with whom he had previously corresponded, after which he was detained by special services. Zhuravlyov was charged with preparing a terrorist attack and sent to a pre-trial detention center. On February 29, 2024, the Southern Military Court found Alexander Zhuravlev guilty and sentenced him to 4 years and 6 months in a strict regime penal colony, with the first 2 years to be served in prison.
