In the city of Belovo, Kemerovo Oblast, no later than May 16, 2024 (the exact date is unknown), unknown individuals burned a relay cabinet on the section of the tracks between the stations Bochaty and Artyshta-1 of the West Siberian Railway. According to the accusation of arson, three local 16-year-old teenagers were detained - Alexander Zakharanko, Vsevolod Kushnir and Saveliy Nizhnikov. During the searches, they allegedly seized a bottle with remnants of petroleum products, as well as mobile phones, bank cards, and items the teenagers were wearing at the time of the arson. According to the investigation, the teenagers responded online to an offer to earn 60 thousand rubles, after which they received instructions on how to carry out the arson of equipment on the railway. One of the teenagers was at home at the time of the crime and coordinated the actions of his friends. A criminal case of sabotage was initiated against minors. The Belovsky District Court of the Kemerovo Region sent all three to a pre-trial detention center. On April 25, 2025, the Kemerovo Regional Court found Alexander Zakharanko, Vsevolod Kushnir, and Savely Nizhnikov guilty and sentenced them to imprisonment with serving their sentences in an educational colony for two of them for six years each, and the third for five years.
