Case Description
On January 20, 2021, a criminal case was opened in Ufa against lawyer Alexander Voytekh on charges of attempted fraud in the field of lending on a particularly large scale. According to the investigation, in 2016, Voitsekh took out several bank loans totaling 4.4 million rubles using false income certificates. Then he "made monthly payments twice, after which he stopped fulfilling his obligations. He himself Voitsekh claimed that he bought an apartment at an auction and intended to resell it – but became a victim of fraud, losing both the apartment and the "credit" money paid for it. In 2021, a bailiff who was supposed to process an apartment transaction was found guilty of exceeding his official powers. On September 22, the investigator appointed him a measure of restraint in the form of a non-leave undertaking. On September 28, 2022, the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa found Alexander Voytsekh guilty and sentenced him to four years in prison to be served in a general regime colony. The lawyer was taken into custody in the courtroom. On December 7, the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan upheld the sentence. 6 April 2023, it was possible to overturn the sentence in the 6th Appellate Court, but Wojciech was kept in custody. On October 5, 2023, upon reconsideration of the case, the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, again found Alexander Voytekh guilty and sentenced him to 2 years and 3 months of imprisonment with a suspended sentence. The lawyer was released from custody in the courtroom. January 24, 2024, the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan upheld the sentence.
