Case Description
In June 2023, the FSB detained Alexander Vechirko, a resident of the Khabarovsk Territory. According to the version of the security forces, the detainee using cryptocurrency tools made transfers of personal funds through third parties living in the territory of Ukraine, to the account of a foreign charitable foundation. According to the investigation and the court, the transferred funds were used to purchase weapons, ammunition, uniforms, equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles, thermal imaging sights, ammunition, and medical uniforms in the interests of the armed forces of Ukraine. Vechirko was accused of treason and sent to a pre-trial detention center. On March 10, 2025, the Khabarovsk Regional Court found Alexander Vecherko guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in prison, 1.5 years of restriction of freedom, and a fine of 700 thousand." rubles. On June 4, 2025, the Fifth Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the verdict unchanged.
