Case Description
In August 2022, employees of the Krasnodar FSB detained a local resident, Alexander Somryakov, in Krasnodar. He was accused of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army motivated by political hatred. The reason for the criminal prosecution was publications in certain social networks. According to the security forces, Somryakov wrote about the fact that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation attacked a maternity hospital and a drama theater in Mariupol, as well as committed a "mass slaughter of the civilian population", including "killed 260 people in the small town of Bucha. On August 18, 2022, the Promyshlenny District Court of Krasnodar sent Somryakov into custody. On April 4, 2023, Judge Eduard Lameikin of the Primorsky District Court of Krasnodar found Alexander Somryakov guilty and sentenced him to 6 years in a general regime colony. July 20, 2023, the Krasnodar Regional Court upheld the sentence. In February 2024, it became known that Sumrakova was deprived of her acquired Russian citizenship by order of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Krasnodar Territory. Somryakov himself is a native of Moldova.
