Case Description
On May 14, 2024, in Zelenograd, a 36-year-old blogger, a native of Taganrog, Alexander Sokolovksy, was detained. A search was conducted in his apartment, during which computer equipment and mobile communications were seized. After the blogger's search, he was taken to the OVD of Russia for the Kryukovo district of Moscow. A criminal case was opened against Sokolsky for "incitement of hatred or enmity." "According to the investigation, during one of his "alcohol streams" on the YouTube channel "Sokol zhet, the man said that he was a senior sergeant and a veteran of combat operations, and that he knew what war was, and that "only drunks go to the 'SVO' for Putin. After that, the blogger called to 'gather together and overthrow this power.'" "The case was initiated based on a report by Yekaterina Mizulina, head of the 'League of Free Internet,' and an order from Bastrykin. On May 15, 2024, the Zelenogradsky District Court of Moscow chose a measure of restraint for Sokolov in the form of detention. On April 10, 2025, the Zelenogradsky District Court of Moscow found Alexander Sokolovsky guilty and sentenced him to 4 years of compulsory labor. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
