Case Description

1. In annexed Crimea in mid-November 2024, Ukrainian citizen Captain 1st Rank Oleksandr Shcheptsov, commander of the 385th Separate Brigade of Marine Unmanned Systems of Special Purpose of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, was accused in absentia of committing terrorist acts on the territory of the republic. According to the Russian investigation, from November 2023 to March 2024, Shcheptsov organized four terrorist attacks using unmanned boats loaded with explosives on objects in Crimea and in the territorial waters of Russia in the Black Sea. It is claimed that as a result of these attacks, a civilian was killed and damage was caused to the state. The court imposed an arrest on the property of Shcheptsov's relatives located in the Republic of Crimea - land plots and commercial real estate totaling more than 19 million rubles. Shcheptsov was placed on the international wanted list.
