A criminal case was opened against Pogudin for knowingly false reporting of arson with the aim of destabilizing the activities of government bodies. On September 30, 2022, the court sent the young man to a pre-trial detention center. On April 6, 2023, his measure of restraint was changed to a ban on certain actions. On July 19, 2023, the Pervomaisky District Court of Izhevsk found Alexander Pogudin guilty and sentenced him to one year and four months of restriction of freedom. The court reclassified the charge under Part 1 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code, as the military enlistment office is not considered an object of social infrastructure. The judge also released him from punishment in connection with the expiration of the term, taking into account the time served in custody and under a ban on certain actions. Before the sentence came into force, Pogudin was taken under a written undertaking not to leave." The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
