Case Description
The 35-year-old activist from Omsk, Aleksandr Pasichnyk, was included in the Rosfinmonitoring list as being involved in crimes of a terrorist nature. It is unknown what he is accused of. According to unconfirmed reports, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the same full name and age was captured by Russian military personnel at the end of July 2024. On August 8, 2020, a criminal case was initiated against local activist Aleksandr Pasichnyk in Omsk for the use of violence against a representative of the authorities. According to the investigation, Pasichnyk allegedly punched a police officer in the face during detentions at a procession near the Theater for Young Spectators. The activist was placed under a written undertaking not to leave during the investigation. On November 24, 2020, the Kuybyshevsky District Court of Omsk found Aleksandr Pasichnyk guilty and sentenced him to 1 year 6 months conditionally. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
