Case Description
In occupied Kherson, no later than April 2022, a criminal case was opened against Ukrainian citizen and former police officer Oleksandr Novatskyi on charges of espionage. According to the Russian investigation, Novatskyi allegedly installed surveillance cameras throughout the city. The images from the cameras were transmitted to his mobile phone. Novatskyi allegedly monitored the movement of Russian troops in real time and transmitted the data to the Ukrainian side, as well as monitored the leaders of the local administration. The court that issued the verdict and the size of the punishment are unknown.
