Case Description

In June 2023, in Sevastopol, occupied Crimea, employees of the Center for Countering Extremism of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Sevastopol and operatives of the FSB of Russia for the Republic and Sevastopol, with the support of the special forces of the 'Korsun' special purpose police squad named after I.A. Alferov, conducted a search. Buzina detained a 32-year-old local resident, Alexander Muravsky. A protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against the detained person under the article on "discrediting" the Russian army, and a criminal case was also opened on "public calls for extremist activity." According to law enforcement officials, the man, using his VKontakte account, posted information in free access for an unlimited number of users, aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, containing calls to obstruct the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in conducting the special military operation and offensive statements against military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces." 3.
