Case Description
Alexander Marchev, a 27-year-old resident of the Iskitim district of the Novosibirsk region, was detained in the Belgorod region no later than May 2024 while attempting to cross the border with Ukraine. According to law enforcement officers, he intended to join the units of the armed forces of Ukraine. A criminal case was opened against the man for preparation for state treason and participation in the activities of an organization recognized as terrorist under the legislation of the Russian Federation. The court sent him to a pre-trial detention center.
