Case Description
In August 2024, local resident Alexander Kulikov was detained in the Vladimir region. He was accused of public calls for activities aimed against state security, using the Internet network. According to the investigation, on May 13, 2024, Kulikov, while at home, forwarded a message with a video recording and a textual comment from his mobile phone to a public chat in a messenger. The comments contained calls aimed against the security of the Russian Federation, in particular, the desire for Russia's defeat in the special military operation and its subsequent collapse. On August 13, 2024, the defendant was placed in custody. On September 15, 2025, the Sobinsky City Court of the Vladimir Region found Alexander Kulikov guilty and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony. On November 5, 2025, the Vladimir Regional Court changed the verdict, imposing an additional punishment on Kulikov in the form of deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the placement of materials on the Internet for a period of 4 years. The court also changed the order of crediting time spent in custody: one day in the SIZO was credited for one and a half days in a general regime colony. The court left the sentence unchanged in the rest of the case.
