Case Description
In Belgorod, local residents — Viktoria Shinkaruk and her common-law husband Alexander Kholodkov — were detained no later than November 2022. They were accused of participating in a terrorist community, preparing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, as well as preparing for the illegal manufacture of explosives. According to the investigation, Victoria Shinkaruk withdrew over 100 thousand rubles and placed the money in a cache. The funds were allegedly intended for unidentified members of a criminal group who planned to carry out a terrorist attack in the interests of 'curators from Ukraine'. Kholodkov, according to the FSB, gave about 400 thousand rubles to unidentified persons, and also hid explosives in caches. Relatives of Shinkaruk claim that the case against the girl may have been initiated because of her ex-husband Yevgeny Kiselyov, who fled from house arrest to his relatives in Ukraine several years ago. From there he sent Shinkaruk money, which Victoria withdrew from the card and left in a bag box in one of the supermarkets. The amount reached 107 thousand rubles. The girl continues to insist that she did not know the purpose of this money, and her relatives do not believe that she could have acted intentionally. Kholodkov also did not admit guilt. Shinkaruk and Kholodkova were placed under arrest. In December 2024, the 2nd Western Military District Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Viktoria Shinkaruk to 21 years of imprisonment and a fine of 1.5 million. rubles and restriction of freedom for 1 year 8 months, and Alexander Kholodkov to imprisonment for 21 years in a strict regime colony, the first 5 years of which he must spend in prison, and a fine of 1.5 million. rubles.
