Case Description
Police came to search the 47-year-old secretary of the local branch of the Rassvet party, Aleksandr Germizin, in Vladimir on October 9, 2024. A criminal case was initiated against him on charges of public calls for terrorism. According to the FSB's version, in October 2022, the man published a series of messages in open Telegram chats 'calling on people to organize terrorist acts, among which were mentioned explosions of buildings of Russian state institutions.' On the same day, as part of the case against Germizin, police searched the home of Yuliya Grekova, head of the Democratic Movement Dialog, and Andrey Borisov, coordinator of the Vladimir branch of the Rassvet party. Expensive equipment was seized from Grekova. According to Duntsova, the activists are not connected to Germizin in any way. On October 10, 2024, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Vladimir sent Germizin to a pre-trial detention center. On February 5, 2025, the 2nd Zapadny Okrug Military Court found Vladimir Germizin guilty and sentenced him to 2 years in a general regime penal colony. The court also imposed a 2-year ban on administering websites on the internet. The sentence was not appealed and entered into legal force.
