Case Description
In April 2024, a criminal case was opened against local resident Alexander Elsufiev in St. Petersburg for "fakes" about the Russian army motivated by political hatred. Details of the charges and the date the case was opened are unknown. The man managed to leave the country. A week after his escape from Russia, a search was conducted at his house - technology was confiscated, his wife and children were intimidated. Immediately, the elder son was handed a summons to the military enlistment office. On August 2, 2024, the Frunzensky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested the man in absentia at the request of the investigation. He was also placed on the international wanted list.
