Case Description
On 7 May 2022, a search was conducted in Kemerovo of a 40-year-old local resident, a pathologist at the Kemerovo Regional Clinical Hospital, Alexander Chervov. During the search, security forces allegedly found canisters, Molotov cocktails, saltpeter, gas masks, maps of the Kemerovo region and Ukraine. Moreover, according to the investigation, Chervov's diary was confiscated, in which he described the preparation for damaging the power transmission line, as well as "planned attacks on military commissariats and police departments. A criminal case was opened against a Kemerovo resident for attempted sabotage and terrorism. According to the security forces, Chervov damaged the supports and fastenings of the power transmission line in the Zavodsky district of Kemerovo three times. The court sent the man to a pre-trial detention center. On August 8, 2023, the 1st Eastern Military District Court found Alexander Chervov guilty and sentenced him to 17.5 years in prison. December 18, 2023, the Appellate Military Court left the sentence unchanged.
