Case Description
In October 2022, a 55-year-old Ukrainian citizen, Alexander Bobrovitsky, was detained in the Bryansk region. He was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist community, attempted terrorism by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, and illegal possession of weapons and explosives. According to the investigation, Bobrovitsky, on assignment from Ukrainian special services, joined 'the terrorist community created by them' and went to the Bryansk region with the aim of 'carrying out an explosion of a homemade explosive device at one of the objects of transport or industrial infrastructure to destabilize the situation in the country and influence the leadership of Russia to stop the special military operation.'", The man allegedly planned to detonate an explosive using the warhead of a missile for the Korsar anti-tank missile system. The man was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On August 23, 2023, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Alexander Bobrovitsky guilty and sentenced him to 12 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony. On December 13, 2023, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
