Case Description
In Mytishchi, Moscow Oblast, on March 2, 2023, local resident Alexander Bakhtin was detained. He was accused of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army out of political hatred. The reason for the criminal prosecution of the resident of Mytishchi was some 'anti-war picture' on the Internet, the content of which is unknown. After the search and interrogation, the court sent Alexander to the SIZO-2 in Volokolamsk. On August 11, 2023, the Mytishchinsky City Court of the Moscow Region found Alexander Bakhtin guilty and sentenced him to six years in a general regime colony. The court also banned him from administering websites for three years.
