Case Description
In the Kursk region, 33-year-old resident of Glushkovsky district, Alexander Abramov, was detained. The date of his detention is unknown. He was charged with treason, illegal acquisition and storage of explosive devices, as well as an attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer.
According to the security forces, Abramov kept hand grenades and detonators at his home, and also passed on to "foreign intelligence" information about the deployment of Russian military forces on the border with Ukraine in the Glushkovsky district. During his detention, Abramov allegedly tried to use a grenade, thereby attempting on the life of a police officer and a military serviceman. According to the investigation, the crimes were committed on the territory of the Kursk region between 2014 and 2023.
The court remanded the defendant in custody.
On June 24, 2025, the Kursk Regional Court found Alexander Abramov guilty and sentenced him to 24 years of imprisonment, with the first 5 years to be served in prison, and the remaining term in a strict-regime colony. The court also sentenced him to a fine of 450,000 rubles and restriction of liberty for 2 years.
On December 10, 2025, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction upheld the verdict without change.
