Case Description
Alavdi Batykayev was accused of participating in a battle on February 29, 2000, as a member of the armed formations of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, during which 84 servicemen of the 6th company of the 104th Parachute Regiment of the Pskov Division of the Airborne Forces were killed. Batukaev denies his guilt. On 12 September 2024, the Southern District Military Court sentenced Batykaev to 16 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime penal colony. On February 3, 2025, the Appellate Military Court upheld the verdict.
